i am currently doing this course at school called sports leadership, includes loadsa stuff about safety, warm up, planning of lessons. etc you get the drift.
well i was given a sheet by the teacher, which was a list of all sports with national governing bodies. it is a couple of years old, but there are quite a few that make you thinkm how on earth can they not give it to paintball.
heres a couple of the stupid ones.

camping, dragon boat racing, metal detecting  , rambling, stoolball, ultimate frisbee (how cool:D), water fitness.

some of these and quite a few others just made me think, how has paintball not got a governing body??? i mean come on who has heard of stoolball? i sure havent.
people are being given money from the government to play, train, buy equipment, whatever for stoolball? what the f*ck.

just pissed me off to find out this.

also, if we do have a governing body, someone gimme a slap. but im sure we havent

Don't worry about it Mike :)

As for the rest of you original post whether you have a Governing Body or not you can't get government money unless your activity is recognised by the Sports Councils

Paintball is not recognised and of the list of activities you mention only Dragon Boat Racing actually is

If this list you were handed by your teacher was supposed to list all sports with Governing Bodies you might ask her why we weren't on it as we do appear on the official lists of UK Organisations
