Always wanted one, and now my other gats are finished and working sweet, I have the time to spend learning one. What sort of minimum budget might I need to save up, and what sort of models will be within my price range?

Kevin, that's a bit of a chicken & egg kind of question

You really need to have a budget in mind before shopping for one. There's just so much choice out there, with different specs or models - check out some of the massive collections on Custom Cockers.com for the low down. As a ball park £150 would get you a nice mech cocker or pump. £200 would be base Eblade or rare mech spec prices. £200-350 mint Eblades, rare limited editions or heavily upgrade markers. £350 to £???? = super rare collector fodder.

Bear in mind Cockers can still be bought BNIB if you shop around. So if you want a new/mint cocker you just need to know where to look, or be prepared to ship in from outside the UK ;)

As GeeTee says - you can spend whatever you like. I've seen PBX prototype autorockers go for $1500 and DC2's go for $1100, and that's before you've added shippng from the US.

You could get a nice Karnivor for £250 or a JOLE for about the same. And that's before you've started thinking about ups like MQ valves and tadao boards.

Sadly most of the stuff you see on here described as "mint", isn't and requires repairs. Which is easy enough if you know what you are doing, but a nightmare if you don't.

The great thing about them is you're unlikely to lose money. You can always sell it on later and prices are pretty steady, unlike the current stuff that loses 30% a year.
