Word has it that UK government is planning on Banning all air guns completely (which includes paintball markers). just something i picked up on a chatroom. anyone know anything about it???? Is it true??? could they end paintball before it was ever really there???

Also, as far as I'm aware, pentathlon uses a .22 pistol.

That is not a air-gun.

Check here to confirm it.

If the rumours are the same ones I heard, it is specifically aimed at idiots who shoot cats and neighbours with pellets. That is not to say that the law will get things right, but that was what I heard.

1. Many olympic shooting disciplines, in which the UK excel, are now illegal here, so competitors keep their guns abroad and train abroad.

2. Air cartridge pistols were banned earlier this year - airguns are likely to go on ticket pretty soon.

3. What impact this will have on Paintball in the UK, no-one knows yet. I suspect a lot will depend on whether the UKPSF, as and when airguns require a firearms certificate, actively attempt to get markers added to that list, or whether they try to stay under the radar.
