I have been hearing a lot of bad things abou field 4 at series 2002 on sunday at skirmish......

....what do you mean it was a bad field!!!!! we won all our games on it, it was one that required some serious walking and it showed who did and who didnt.......

....walk your fields then u will play them better, it was not a bad field.

Well done 2002 guys!

Chris,

At the team meeting on Sunday, we discussed your particular problem, of having no nickname. So out of the goodness of our hearts we found one for you, admittedly not the first choice, but henceforth within the team you shall be knowm as 'Cowboy' on account of your bowlegs, bull****, and general badass style of play.

Lets hear it for Sad UK, and Sad Too.

I am sorry that some teams did not like the woodland field on Sunday.

Unfortunately it was the only one available to use due to the number of rental customers we had on the day. Several teams however said that they liked it because it made them play harder and tighter.

Teams that won on certain fields will say they love them, those that lost, say no more.

If it was not to your liking, I am sorry. However, by only saying it "was crap" doesn't help us. We are only too happy to listen to any ideas players have to improve the site and fields.

See you all soon

Woodland Field

As i mentioned (as did some others who were not just slagging it off) in another thread the field was just different, new. It wasnt crap by any means - i loved the idea of seeing your oponents moving around it is unnerving and requires you to really split your concentration around. Unfortunately we only had one game on the field against that useless novice team... Metric was it? something along those lines.

It wasnt a very long game.

And a lot of the posts were adopting the form of constructive critiscism as it were. Which is really good, then Steve and the gang can hopefully take some comments into account and please more people next time. I totally agree that saying things like 'it was crap' is unhelpfull but saying things like:

You needed weights or something on the bottom of the netting
The ones youe werent allowed in should have been taped/netted off completely (saves confusion for us idiots out there:) )
Different height bunkers might have been cool
We should take it easy on those imperious boys next time ;)

..should hopefuly be helpfull

All in all every field was fun for different reasons even if it just for learning new playing styles - it was our first time playing hyperball and we got whipped on that field at first, but we soon learnt

Well Done Steve & All at Skirmish Nottingham, aswell as all the marshalls (first class marshalling all day) Top Tourney by all accounts

when he said 'useless novice team' he was jokingly refering to JCS Imperial, hence the 'Metric' pun.

i don't think anyone would seriously consider Imperial novice or useless.

anyway about the woodland field: i personally think that it would've been a reasonable field if all the netting went down to the floor and was tied down. This would've allowed more moves to be made as it seemed like the worse bunkers (ie the ones withe the biggest gaps at the bottom) were in the middle of the field, basically meaning if you moved up you got shot out. not good for a tournament field.

and if any body is wondering we played two games on the field, one from either end and won one, lost one.
