The Smart As A Carrot paintball team has had an eventful year.
We started off this year with sponsors: Zap and Just Paintball, and had a squad of 20 players.
We even managed to put 2 teams into the series 2001 tournaments and put a team into europe.(But dont mention the car crash)
Due to our success last year, we were approached by other teams and lost a number of players to "pro" teams, at the same time we lost more players who retired.
We lost more as the year went on, some due to relocation and others to form a new SAAC team to compete in the Midlands Masters.
The M/M SAAC team has now split into a seperate team- DV8(Good luck guys.)
Our current sponsorship with Zap ends after October, we will be talking to Zap about the future.
Our sponsorship with Just Paintball also ends in October. After talks with Jim Mann the team have decided that they can not offer what he wants from them, therefore we would like to say"thanks" for all of your support and best wishes for the future.
Smart As A Carrot can not meet the criteria for full sponsorship and would therefore not like to be considered as a resident team for the Just Paintball site.
We will still attend "training" sessions and walk ons, the same as any other team and trust relations will remain friendly.
As 2002 draws to a close we have more than exceeded all expectations, which was evident during the Scu**horpe tournament.
Smart As A Carrot will continue into 2003 by becoming stronger and stronger as a team.
We are confident that new sponsorship will come our way and are also happy to announce the news that we have just recruited 3 new players.
Therfore, the future is not only bright, it is as orange as our carrot!!!!!!
Watch out 2003..........here we come!
