I'm getting fed up of my electrical tourney gat breaking, and have started yearning for something a bit more reliable that still has reasonable RoF and accuracy...

through various conversations, trolling the internets and my own imagination i've come up with the idea of getting a good ol' tippmann 98 and fitting a Response Trigger and Cyclone feed...

Discuss.

Not really much discussion needed :). Good solid, reliable guns suitable for rec play that will serve you well for years to come as long as you don't abuse it too badly - you won't have much problem there.

Only thing I can think of is I've heard that the little pins on the cyclone feed aren't necessarily the strongest components in the world.

I think the main discussion is what electronic gun did you have and what were the problems, you sound very disinclined toward them, you do know that they wont really work so well after taking them into your sandbox right?

Of course if it were something made out of plastic or coat hangers then you'd be forgiven. :D

I've got an ion, but the boards gone to smeg >.<
Why wasn't i suprised you had an ion.

When you buy crap, expect crap.

Forget the tippman, spend over £200 on a used marker, angel 05, ego 05. Then look back and realise how bad the ion is.

hey m8
the tippmann is a brill pice of kit and a good choice but with just a normal tippmann 98 fitting a Response Trigger can be a pisstake  you have to mill little bits out of the grip and the body to get the thing to fit in, not saying it cant be done but is just better if you know what you are doing :( so if you are still thinking of going down that road make sure u get a tippmann 98 custom, they have all the necessary improvements so that the response trigger fits right in with out hassle :)

but as Tom Allen says the ion is a pice of crap if you just spend a bit more you can get your self a top noch and reliable marker right off these forums.

Tippys are solid but the the whole procedure they follow to cycle will never let them perform as such. If you want something that just works keep your eyes peeled for an RT mag, quick as anything and providing you run compressed air it shouldnt give you any problems
