Is it just me or are paintballs very over priced, i mean i pay £ 50-70 for a case of paintballs, and i am a back player so it all adds up. And what is the difference between cheap and expensive paintballs, plese let me know.

What paint do you usually use?
I think the main differences between cheap and expensive are the strength of the shell, the thickness of the paint and the consistancy of roundness throughout the box.

Yeah I wasn't too happy when I went for a rec day and found the site was charging £120 for exactly the same paint a shop sells for £50 either. 60% markup on the retail price, not to mention the wholesale and bulk discounts they probably get when buying it. Nice work if you can get it.

Thats the way sites make their money, no sites no paintball, sad but true!

Yep Paul's right I'm afraid - the game fee doesn't cover the site owners costs anywhere near in most cases, so some costs (including their own wages) plus all the profit has to come from paint sales. Hence why so expensive at walk-on & rental days, though most sites give you a cheaper rate than the rental customer's price if you buy by the case/half case.

Back players costs come down when you start to play tourney, as the paint bill should always be split between the team - those bunker monkey's can't do their flashy mugs etc without your backup!

Well, once paint starts having several makers inside the EU then the prices will come down. Also, buy in bulk! For heaven's sake never buy alone and less than 2 cases individually.
Yeah, you should be able to get two cases for just over £70 in England if you shop around and buy two or more cases at a time.
Also - do you need to be using top quality paint all of the time? How many tourneys do you play in? Are you just going up to your local site for a bit of rec ball and a messabout with some mates?? The type of game you're playing can vary what kind of paint you may need, therefore lower your costs.
