personally neither but given that choice id go with the mag....far more reliable and much more upgradeable

What kit do you have already? Do you need a new mask? Is this just a general question or are you planning on buying new kit soon?

Mag over the spyder everytime.

Reliable, upgradable and loads of parts around second hand to keep costs down.

Make sure you get a powerfeed or Centrefeed ULE body.
Standard feeds are not nice!

And for first upgrades get an air system, then level 10 bolt.

the mag any day of the week, but buy a second hand one, the depretiation is too big on new mags (i.e you wont sell it for much).

The first upgrade on the mag should be air, then buy the x-valve kit. This gives you an Uber valve and a level 10 bolt all in one kit!

Nice idea the x-valve but its a bit expensive! Cheaper option would be to add a lvl 10 to your standard valve. On air they re quick enough to satisfy most. Possibly add the ULE trigger kit. Increases the risk of short stroking but gives a feather light pull!

Mags do not really like co2. You can fiddle with them, adding palmer stabilisers, expansion tanks etc. but to be honest it would be cheaper just to add a basic 3000 psi airsystem.
