The Irish Paintball League / The IPL

The Irish Paintball League was formed in 2008 by players for players. The IPL's inaugural year saw five teams compete over five events.

In 2009 the IPL hopes to expand on its previous success with another 5 events planned and interest from many teams around Ireland and abroad.

The goals of the Irish Paintball League are to promote fun, competitive tournament paintball in Ireland.

The league gives more experienced teams an opportunity to practice and compete against each other, while also being a good starting point for teams interested in competing abroad.

Website looks good. Registration is closing on the 28th of Feb for anyone interested in coming over all the events.

If you want to come over for one or two events, then you can register for individual events closer to the time.

It would be great to see some UK teams come over to Ireland to compete. We have had interest already from a couple of teams which is great to see and even interest from a team in Finland!!!!

Hope to see some teams make an appearance. More details will be posted on the site soon regarding accomodation, transport etc.

Good luck with it all guys. It is great to see everyone come together to try and further Irish Paintball.
Maybe in the near future we will see teams traveling both ways to play..

Hi Tommy, thanks for the kind words. A couple of Irish teams have traveled over to play in the NSPL and the London Millennium.

Time to return the favor! If nothing else it will be a great laugh with a boozin' sesh afterwards!

Good luck with this guys - seems like things are growing rapidly for you back home. Certainly very different to a few years back before I moved here.

Yeah they really are, a couple of years ago there was just Escarmouche up North and The Reapers in the South...and that was it! That was the entire tourney scene over here. Now there's almost 10 teams, with 6 of them going to Millennium this year.

You should pop over man, see how things have grown.

yes this year is looking pretty good so far. THere are 7 teams registered for all events including:

Karnage
Wildfire
Fear
Bad Company
Marvel
Irish Rage

Spots are filling fast and we hope to get some teams from abroad aswell. I think the Mayhem Knights expressed an interest in coming over.

The Irish Paintball League's first event, the Draxxus Cup, is taking place on saturday. We are well excited about the event and things are shaping up quite well. We have 6 teams competing on the day including:

Wildfire

Reapers are reffing for the Draxxus Cup
