After many years of success with the Tontons the crazy brothers are leaving and Edouard Pellicci is taking over as Captain.....! But they are not going to quit tournament ball.... so will we be seeing them in an American roster soon...... or will they be staying in Europe....??? Who knows.... anybody know? Senor Robbo any inside stories on what went down and what is to follow?

How do you guys think this is going to affect the Tontons (which it seems to me have been struggling since the begginning of the season)?

PS: Big Up to Fred and Fab and all the best for the future!

ooh! I hope I didn't just screw up.... ok I went back to my first source.... found that there was nothing tangible..... so went to www.spirit-of-paint.com which is basically the site where all French players get their info...... and I got this

Which transalated gives:

Some nasty rumours are circulating at the moment on our "national team" the Tontons. Some internal worries (conflicts) seem to have provoked the departure of two players, in this case the Halmone brothers. We hope this is just a rumour because this team is one of the rare (french teams) to be playing at a pro level in all the leagues. No details for the moment to why they would have split.

The Tontons roster seems solid enough for this departure to not screw up the team's balance.

We hope this is just gossip..... which remains French paintball's trademark (gossip that is)."

So no I'm definitely not sure. Sounds like ther was some argument yesterday... For the moment this is a rumour.... As we say in French "there is no smoke without a fire"..... but if you consider this thread has no reason to be anymore I understand.

Ok, this is the deal, both Fabrice and Freddie had become disenchanted with what they thought were the prospects open to the Ton Tons.
They did not feel as though their ambitions were being mirrored by the team's and so decided to leave.
Laurent has handed over control over of the Ton Tons to Edouard as you say but how long that lasts for, we will have to wait and see.
As for Fab and Freddy, Fred has already had many offers to play Stateside but I think one of the problems with that is Fred would never move over there and with today's demands upon players performances and commitments, it would be difficult to see this happening.
Therefore Fabrice and Freddy are guns for hire, they are two of the most talented players I know (I picked both of them in my world's top ten players once) and two of the world's nicest guys, I wouldn't think they would have to wait too long for a knock on the door.

Definitely 2 of the nicest guys I've met in Paintball. Down to earth, laid back and fun.

Guns for hire you say? I think I'm gonna go get that piggie I've been saving since I'm a kid and break it open!

Interesting....
Even more interesting is what those disenchantments Pete speaks of are.
TonTons play EXL, Millennium and NPPL (did they do any this season?), so how many more options does one want? I get the feeling this is just the party line, you know, the one that people say when the leave a team and are too professional to throw mud at eachother, even if they do depart with some bad blood.

Either way, I think the brothers won't have a hard time finding a team that would hire them, they are indeed great players. I do get the feeling that the TonTons will play with a lot less flair without these two cats on the roster...

"good day to all

To reply to ceratins post concerning our departure.

We awaited a little before to announce it, but the rumors are true, fabrice and myself leave the tontons after 6 years of service. the reasons are personal and various and we do not wish to spread us over. This is all of difficult one even a decision because we like the persons with that played us even there and equally laurent for that will keep us always a deep respect and a big affection. I sincerely thank it for all that it did for us even there.

Édouard will resume the reindeers of the matter and to take care of the team for the continuation. reassure you if the team knew certain difficulties these times that does not want to say that this is the end of the tontons, the team is constituted of an effective solid and there remains inside of very good players that will know certainly to take the small boat as it is necessary. the team will always remain.

In regards to us have not ourselves any precise projects, but we remain still in the paint, our projects proffessionels did not change. But for the moment one does a small station wagon of some weeks because that does very a long time that one did not pass a moment without doing paintball of here some weeks one will see and one will hold you during the course of this that happens for us. For the moment one continues to come to see on the forum
this that happens and one remains in contact.

Good day to all and I profit from it to thank you for your supports to all even there. "

I'm especially interested to know what Édouard will do with those reindeers. Sounds kinky. ;)
