It's a matter of commitment.

Most major league teams realize that when they go to a tournament that the reffing is a variable. Except for NXL you know that most likely all the fields aren't going to have the same level of reffing. Then when it comes to the finals the reffing is usually quite good because the best refs of the tournament are there.

Magued built Joy Masters around the players and based on some bad reffing experiences his team had he wanted to give players what he wanted: quality reffing.

So I believe it was Magued more than anyone else who made the extra effort and commitment to provide good reffing at a tournament. The bad taste he experience travelling and getting horrible reffing motivated him to train Joy into better refs. He even paid extra to get some top pro refs when he could have had lesser refs for series points.

Laurent is another Millennium person who also has a deep commitment to the development of quality reffing. Last year he paid top money to have an additional reffing squad so that both finals fields had pro refs.

Then NPPL, in cooperation with Magued, made a commitment to good reffing and the bar went up in America.

Millennium committed the funds to all-pro head refs and one pro reffing squad at every event. The quality went up but there was still the variable of teams reffing for points.

PSP has proved that are also committed to quality reffing because they put up the money to have three European reffing squads over in addition to their pro refs. They also had an army of support staff.

I see the world of reffing getting smaller as more and more international cooperation and exchange take place. That will benefit the whole world of PB since the teams are becoming more and more international or are travelling abroad more.
