Paintball is changing in the UK, but although change is good the question is:-

Are we moving forward too fast for the level of play and players we have in this country.

Seems to me that we want the Ferrari
1. whether or not we have the money to pay for it
2. whether or not we have the ability to drive it

yep far to fast
some can afford to play in most chosen tourneys, most cant
same for traning/ equipment,ie
buy a gat for £1000,then have to sell it for LESS than half price a few months later:( .helps the new people but hinders future wannabe top players).
which legue is recognised ect
we need to help the players help themselves;)
we have the talent, but we need to help them show it

Why is it necessary to sell that gat a few months later? Seems to me the mad dash to always have the latest, newest gun reflects a few priorities totally out of whack for anyone who claims to be about winning. JMHO.

Uh, then maybe bite the bullet, forgo the latest milling pattern, and buy a marker that's a few months old?

If you're blowing 500 quid on a marker when you could get one 99% as good, you're an idiot. Spend it on paint and practice more, seriously. The only kinds of people who really NEED the best of the best markers get them for free. The rest of you would better spend that money on practice.

QFT

Once you have purchased a competative marker, air and a hopper all you need is paint to train and playing fees. Seems strange coming from a marker whore but is true.

Some decent regular training will go a lot further than a shiny new pair of balls. Even foregoing a local tournament in favour of training with a pro.

Train, train then train some more.

DW, I am trying to fathom what you are using as indicators for this change; you use the phrase 'too fast', but all I have seen over the past few weeks is people talking about becoming more committed......I'm afraid that's it as far as I can see.
Now you well may be looking at other symptoms, if so, please enlighten me.

yup

In my view there are to many tournaments around.

its great to have the choice but doesnt it look like the organizers are just doing it for the money now, maybe i am wrong like i said it is my view.-markie c

if only there was a comp where you could play and it wouldnt cost half as much at it does esspecially for youths remmember not every one is pulling the same wage.....

and why do tournaments have to be miles away never local
to manc , if only tho ayyyy

why cannot there bee massive comps that are leauge seaded .
and the most voted tournament would run the top div .
then the second most voted present tournament would run 2nd highest div . and so on so on.

the lower the div the cheaper it gets.

with etleast 20 teams per div

winners get a place into the the milenium event next yr ..

etleast this way prices will be waited out .as i think it should be cheaper for new teams as they pay alot of money to be miss seaded and escorted to the dead box , and not wanna play the next leg. and maybee comps could be arranged better and every one will be betterly seaded.
and then there will be no favouratism and no cheating or fixed div's every one plays each other twice like foot ball maybee the sport might get i little bit more rekkongnised
and not only that people might acctually turn up for more events

bump and i woke up ........

but maybee ukpsf and some people who high up might be able to bring something together
