Hi All,

Just about to buy a new barrel for my Spyder E99. Trying to figure out which barrel is the best for me. I will be playing up front and have been looking at the Xcel but the progressive is going at a better price.

Any ideas?

Thanks, but I have been there and everyone rates all the barrels mainly the same. I am looking for an opinion from someone in the UK who has used them before.

as a spyder user the best advice i can give you is this

to upgrade your barrel from a stock one to a freak kit will be a massive difference. to upgrade your stock barrel to a excel or a progressive will be a massive difference. to upgrade between a excel / progressive and a freak kit will be a difference but not a massive one

basically any barrel over a stock will be an improvement, but after that, for me anyway, it is more about the cost than the quality

another set to look at is 32 degrees ones....which i think are fairly cheap

personal choice is an excel barrel, but if you can get a progessive from somewhere cheaper then get one of those.....save the money and still get the benefits

i've got the teardrop, it is deadly accurate, only downside is that if you get a break, the porting takes forever to clean completly, haven't heard much of the progressives, i have heard good about the xcel, if i were you, i'd be doing enee, minie, mo:D
