Would I be right in saying that team anno guns are harder to sell and therefore sell for less? I notice a lot of people saying they don't like team guns.
Your opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks

it depends really. I quite like team guns, bit of a something different from the normal colour schemes.
I wouldn't say they sell for less, but I haven't really seen them go for more.

It appears to be really hard to sell any markers at the moment in general, too many people holding out for new season team deals.

Yeah depends on the team and weather its just colours or if the team name is plastered all over them. The old Clan ego's look epic imo atm the only team guns I see for sale are disruption, nexus and lucky 15's and I think the fact they are quite common has made people want them less, I mean the anno on the disruption and lucky 15 markers is impeccable!

There is also that thought of using a marker whos team you dont play does seem and look a little odd... especially at sup air tournaments

As I own both types I thank it honestly comes down to personal preference. Some custom versions can / do command a premium but not necessarily all of them

The influence of value is the model year which will put into a price bracket, this generally depreciates over time. Then a custom finish or milling will generally add value, as they would have cost more than a stock variant. Unfortunately the finish doesn't make the marker shoot better or come sprinkled with the pro player skills... ;)

So it comes back to simple economics, supply and demand, limited runs and scarcity play a role. The personal determination to the intrinsic value of the marker is then the overriding factor, if you like and can afford it, you buy it!

Then there are some markers like the Infamous Johnny Cash SL74 Ego that were extremely sought after, which break all the rules!

Having owned a pile of team guns..... I'd say it all depends on who you get it from!
If you are the 2nd owner, you get it cheep as the first owner (the team member) will have got it at a slightly subsidised price, so can lose a bit on it and not be in the same situation as some one buying a £1500 marker new, and sellling it a year later taking a big hit. This tends to all happen at one time (when a new marker is replacing the old) so you see a lot at the same time, then none for a fair while.
Further down the line i'd say the team editions carry a premium, 07,08 egos for example will always carry a premium if they are a team marker.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm looking at buying a new marker so wanted to know how it would affect selling it on in the future, seems timing is more a factor than anno.
Cheers

If they are a well respected and popular team (Dynasty, Nexus, Joy Division) then a team gun will often hold value better or even get higher. But, from what I've seen people would rather have a base gun than one branded by a reasonably small regional UK team. Of course if the design is awesome people are more likely to be interested but that's a matter of taste.
