I've got a little project starting at the moment milling a few bits off an 05 ego frame. The main problem i'm having though is tapping a new screw hole. The hole needs to be just insid the trigger guard (so its in the way). My questions to the moddig gurus out there are:

Do i need to use a pillar drill or similar to drill the hole, or with the correct bit could i use a standard drill?

How should i thread the hole, i can drill it from the other side but this leaves me the problem of how to thread it. Would the correct size screw thread the hole okay or would I have to use a tap.

Any ideas on fillin gthe old screw hole? rubber filler?

I've got access to the vast majority of tools (bar the piller drill & thread tap). I'm looking to mod an 05 frame onto my E-tek (if it doesn't sell). Will keep folks updated if there interested in how it goes :)

Best off with a pillar drill Bob as you can get the work piece clamped and lined up properly.
You'll need a tap,well a couple,a starter and maybe a regular or bottom tap.
You could fill the old hole with the original screw but cut it off flush and if necessary file it down.
