I've been out of the game for a few years and, yet again, I'm trying to make my way back in. As it goes I've decided that I will be getting both of my 1.1l/68ci tanks retested (if they'll pass) but I'm also thinking of getting a couple of other tanks for particular purposes. As I've been away from paintball for so long I feel like my old knowledge regarding equipment is somewhat out-of-date. So on with the questions.

Firstly I've been looking at getting a small tank for my pump markers. I've been wanting one of the small 3.5oz CO2 tanks that they've had in the US for ages but, annoyingly, they aren't tested for use over here in the UK. Then they got the small air tanks which also weren't tested for here. I was annoyed about that too. Now I find that we can get the 13ci and 22ci HPA tanks over here so I was thinking it'd be great to get one solely for use on my pumps. Can anyone give me some advice on these smaller tanks? How many shots can I expect out of them? Anyone got their dimensions? And what's retesting going to be like with them? In the US there's a '2x2' rule, do we have something similar here in the UK?

I'm also looking at getting a large tank for remote use. I've already been pointed in the direction of LiPS for a 2l tank but I remember seeing a 3l tank somewhere. I can't find the link again though. Can anyone give me the dimensions of either? My current harness, a RAP4 vest, just about holds my 68ci tank so can anyone recommend a new harness that'll hold the larger tanks? Or does anyone know if the newer RAP4 vests can handle them?

phoenix paintball have some new tanks at the moment, they are made by a company called safer, i know they do 1.1 , 1.5 and 2 , they may do a 3 , im not sure,

they are cracking bottles, i have a 1.5l with a slp reg which i use with my angel and bob long, also its the its shorter than most 1.1 litre bottles so its a win win! haha.

this is taken from safer ' Why SAFER is the smart choice? The lightest 300 bar / 4.5k Paintball bottle on the market. The smallest Paintball bottle (by comparative volume). 15 year life span. Greater 1.2L capacity yet still smaller than standard 1.1L bottles. No-slip rubberised protective coating included to protect your investment. Bottles are customisable, have your own team logo sealed into each bottle. CE , Ð and TUV approved. The cylinders are manufactured in an automatic quality control process and are subjects to comprehensive tests in accordance with current regulations and standards under the TUV SUD supervision. Why SAFER is the smart choice? '

ill post up a picture of mine soon.

hope this helps

Thanks for the info Fanta. I think Safer were the makers of the 3l ones I saw (via that link I lost) so I'm glad I wasn't imagining it. I've now managed to get this info about the 3l bottle from their site:

3.0 liter bottle
Waga: 1,6 kg
Weight: 1.6 kg
Ciśnienie: 300 bar
Pressure: 300 bar
Pojemność wodna: 3.0 L
Water Capacity: 3.0 L
Średnica: 116 mm
Diameter: 116 mm
Długość: 445 mm
Length: 445 mm
Materiał: KOMPOZYT
Material: Composite
Okres eksploatacji: 15 lat
Shelf life: 15 years
Gwint: 5/8" 18 UNF
Thread: 5 / 8 "18 UNF
Norma: PN-EN 12245 : 2009
Standard: BS EN 12245: 2009
Dyrektywa: 2010/35/EU
Directive: 2010/35/EU

So that's a 445mm long bottle with a 116mm diameter. The diameter will be a bit of a tight fit in my current harness and the length is way more than it can handle being that the tank holder part is only 24cm long. RAP4's site says it should be able to handle up to a 120ci but I'm pretty sure this tank is way beyond that. Should I just go for the smaller 2l tank so that I won't need to worry about how I'm going to carry it? I really liked the idea of having to refill less often though...

Primarily my modded A5s and maybe a cocker and a spyder. It's not like they're inefficient but on the further away fields it's nice to not have to do that long walk back to base camp to refill in between games. Not to mention that I tend to waste a lot of air & paint until I get myself back into the 'groove' of playing, if you know what I mean?

Yeah , I see, I'm pretty sure Phoenix have the 2 liters in stock , I don't know any others that do big scenario bottles apart from the armotech tanks which are sold on lips paintball
