Hi,

I'm not really new to the sport but this is my first time buying equipment. I bought a new tank a couple of days back and today I noticed that the face of the pressure gauge was cracked, I'm just wondering whether this will affect the tank or not? Mainly whether the reading on the gauge is correct. I have a feeling that it isn't because it is currently reading 0psi but my marker airs up and I have shot it about half a dozen times.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Depends on how bad the crack is,if its touching the needle then its Fooked.
Some have a tiny hole in the glass to let any pressure out.
Buy a new one or ask for a second hand one on here.

It doesn't appear to be touching the needle.
It also doesn't appear to be a feature to allow pressure to escape either.
This was a brand new tank.

If its brand new ask for a new one, they just unscrew with a spanner.
Send it back ask for a replacement.
Small amount of PTFE plumbers tape and you are good to go,just on the upper part of the thread ,so as not to get into the reg.

The crack does not matter, under the glass there is no pressure
Not having the right pressure shown by the needle is not a real problem, as long as you don't fill by it and attempt to get to to show 3000 or 4500psi as applicable (but you of course cannot overfill a bottle unless you are using the wrong fill station)

It's simple to replace the gauge

But a new bottle with a broken and/or non functioning gauge is something you can get sorted from the retailer

Thanks for the replies.

I've got in touch with the retailer and should hopefully hear back from them tomorrow :)

@tommikka - that's what I was concerned about. It just seems odd that the gauge shows no pressure but I still managed to get the marker to fire >.>
