i have a steel tank for about 2 months now, but isnce i have had it there are a few things that have puzzled me. is it common to have a couple of very very small dents on the the tank? like 2 or 3 mm long and less than a quartar of a mm deep? ive seen some tanks on here for sale with these sort of dents so pressumed they were okay. also my tank seems to be on eof the only ones i have seen with a flat bottom so it can stand up right? any ideas or am i just paranoid?

i think nearly all steal/alli tanks have a flat bottom (well from wat ive seen)

the dents arnt a big problem as long as they arnt to deep or long but im guessing any small dent will add towards destroying the structural integraty of your bottle. if it doubt get it checked out. do u not use a bottle cover?? spend £10 and protect yer bottle.

yeh i have bottle cover. these looks more like from when it was manufactures or painted or anodised whatever it was. nd as i say very small. like theres bout 3 dents. 2mm or less length and a quarter or an eighth of a mm in depth and as for the flat bottom i have seen soem where it kinda is cure don bottom and a small flat part but myne looks almost like co2 bottles do.

any steel tanks we have and any i've come across are flat bottomed......and they do look identical to co2 bottles, except for the valve/reg fitting at the top.

as for the dents - depends.... at 3k a steel tank should be ok with a few very very minor nicks without a loss of integrity - if in doubt bin it...a new steely will cost you £40 rather than your (or someone elses) life.....
