taking a poll

Ok, so I am taking a poll here. If you had $500.00 and needed a marker, barrel, hopper and air system, what would you buy and why. Remember, you only have $500.00 to play with here.

Also, can anyone tell me about automags. I know they have been around for a while and some people love them, but whats so great about them?

The reason I ask is this. I have a 98C, with a teardrop barrel, drop forward and 48/3000 nitro. I am considering upgrading it some more but have also thought about selling it and looking at a new marker all together. Any suggestions would help.

I agree, get an IMPY, keep the air and maybe upgrade it later, and depending how fast you'll think you'll be shooting go w/ a 12 V X-board or something faster, then maybe a Dye aluminum barrel or something like it in cost. Look into used kits too, you can find some goodies that are in fairly good condition for fairly cheap.

Stock 2k3 cocker, black 12v revy, use your existing air, and buy a couple of bits and bobs for the cocker $500 well spent. Also really upgradeable if you have some spare $$$ in your pocket sometime

Cockers are really reliable as well (the only ones that really screw up are ones that people play with ).

Or like other people have said an Impy is a good choice for the $$ as well again get one with a vert reg and you can use your existing air system just make sure you get a 12v revy.

yep have to agree there, pick up a cocker slap your existing air system on it and a revvi....ready to rock and roll, upgrade as needed!
better yet have a dig thru ebay and/or the various sites that sell 2nd hand gear and pick up a cocker thats a couple of years old and already got a few upgrades fitted

Since you're in the US, if you go to:

You can get an Impulse with a new trigger and a low pressure regulator for $450 (their college "Freshman" package). Add a 12v revy for $50 and use your existing nitro bottle and you're in business for $500. The stock barrel on the Imp is the Smart Parts Progressive which is OK for now - no need to upgrade that yet. You'll be amazed at how much faster this Imp will shoot than your current Tippman.

If you want to spend a few bucks more (who doesn't?), then I'd get an Evo II hopper. They cost about $70 online. It's faster than the revy and you'll need the speed with the Impulse.

impulse. they rock, add air and a half decent barrel and yoiu'll be roking. add an i-frame and a WAS board and you will kick the sh*t out of most markers out there!!
