Tadao issue..

I'm looking @buying a Tadao board for an @06 Ego,I've been offered 1 but I've also been advised by the seller that it has a battery issue.
Apparently they won't or don't like brand new batteries,appreciate his honesty but can anybody shed any light on this.
He cites it as a common issue but mine is ok...cheers...
