I just finished watching an episode of 'Just Shoot Me'. Playing paintball WITH NO MASKS. Speaking like drill seargents and calling their three hours of paintball "all out war". No barrel plugs and Finch shooting his boss without either of them wearing a mask. Simply put it disgraced the name of paintball and gives this sport a 'mocho mans war game' image with no safety or common sense used. These images apear on TV all to often and make paintball something to be feared.

Make paintball something to be feared?

Maybe not. If someone young and impressionable see's something like this, they may think that you dont need masks and that it isnt something dangerous. He might go out without the equipment with friends and play and end up hurt because he might have only seen paintball played without masks.
There might be no fear involved, just plain ignorance.

You have got to promote, the sport as, safe and fun.
Try to get the public to accept, the game(Rec ball) and the sport(Tournys).
But make them see, that the two are different.

Everyone i know, thinks is just playing war. They do not know about the sport. Until i put them right.

I agree with promoting the sport. Infact I have been trying hard to convince my relatives to allow their children to try paintball. But by my comments as something to be feared; I meant parents seeing these stereotypes and forbiding their children to play the game/sport. My aunt once asked me what paintball was and after explaining it to her I learned that she had heard terrible things about paintball from other parents who had never even played paintball. Only these negative rumors spread by some parents who have had little to no experience with paintball and don't understand it.

Alternatively, "Junkyard Wars" (The US version of, umm, was it called something else there?) is having "Paintball Tanks" this Wed. I'm looking forward to seeing it, because theyr'e all wearing the RIGHT safety gear! And I Wanna see how they score the winner. Seems they're making these monster cannons to shoot like 50 balls a time or something just ridiculous....

I want one!
