Question, firing an eblade today with some unknown bore barrels, and was having some al la Beckham swerving with a smart parts two piece. I am thinking that this barrel is around the 0.693 mark, and could be the reason for the swerve. Have been told that if the paint is too small the air will pass either side of the ball and cuase it to spin as it leaves the barrel end........ Makes sense but is it true

Would appreciate some wisdom

It's more likely the paint had flat spots or the velocity you were shooting at was too high. If you crank up the fps you can end up with distorted balls that go all over the place. Or maybe you just sat on your barrel ;)

Unlikely that it would be the barrel bore causing swerving, though an oversized barrel can cause a little innaccuracy and definitely bad gas economy. As Mike said, it's most likely that you had a problem with the paint - flat spots, odd shapes or very sweaty balls :)eek: ) i.e. ones which have "sweated out" some of the oil leaving a film on the outside, are probable reasons. Another reason could be any muck or paint on the inside of the barrel; the paint picks this up on it's way through which can cause swerving.

dirty ba..... rrel

Yep, think the barrel was dirty, dont think the fps was set to high its at 289, give or take 2 with an air armegeddon. Other two barrels (stock 14" excel and a dye 14" ultra light) which are both around the .689 mark, worked fine with the same paint, but the freak was..... well freaky, i could have shot round corners as well as taking out some over head tree monkeys.

Its an old smarts parts labelled back and a red front, its not really a freak
similar to http://www.planeteclipse.com/www2001/shopimages/freak_kit.gif
but without the gold freak back. I think its a silly bore, most paint just falls through it, how do you measure bore size anyway, as I thing planet sold me a miss labeled ultralight, asked for a custom .690 and I think ive got a .688, and I am not too sure what the stock bore is with my gun (excel barrel came with the factory eblade) al la http://www.planeteclipse.com/www2001/shopimages/red_eblade.gif

Cheers:confused:
