I'm in Sussex, and am arranging a punter day next month with friends. The obvious place would be Holmbush, but they dont let you use your own gear, is there anywhere else thats local-ish that will?

Thanks.

Try calling the Campaign Booking Office on 01932 865 999. I have been told that they let you use your own guns providing you respect the other players and don't go punter hunting.

Sorta. . .

Hi Vortex. . .

We at Campaign recommened that players with their own equipment play on WALK ON DAYS. We have 2 coming up. 1st FEB and 28th MARCH.

We can accomodate one or two own guns on a regular day, preferable as part of a private event.

Guns need to be turned down to 260FPS and a barrel sock must be on your gun while in the safe zone. Only site paint can be used. As was mentioned any sign of 'punter hunting' and its 'see you later, Alligator'. . .

You've spent the time and money to invest in the sport, playing on a walkon day ensures you get to use your equipment the way it was intended! ;)

Thanks guys, I know about walk ons etc... I'm going to one this sunday, and in fact I was at Campaign in, erm, november was it, when we had the torrential rain day :) I came with the guy with the broken Spyder, and the guy with the broken Impulse - I personaly had a broken Piranha ;). Dunno if you came to the pub with us afterwards? That man thought we'd made off with his Spyder!

When I ask about using your own kit, its just cos I'm trying to get more people involved where I live, and showing off our gear is a good way of doing that. I'm not gonna impress anyone enough to get into the game with my pot pack am i? :)

call us!

Vortex,

I can assure you the site is not that wet right now! (even with all the rain we have had recently)

Why don't you call the office, so we can see what we can do for you.

Which walk on you going to Sunday? Just curious as I'll be at Holmbush with the Wild Geese.

I applaud your efforts of trying to get more people involved in Paintball but you dont have take your own marker. I've gone to punter days before, with all my own kit except marker, and you still get plenty of questions and comments like 'You must be a Pro' and 'I'm playing with you!' :D Flattering to say the least. All you have to do is field peoples questions and explain the sport in more detail and people get a better understanding. You dont need your marker to do PR.

What is your marker? If its a Tippmann or Inferno then I would imagine some sites would let you use it as its not going to be that much better than the site markers. If its high end semi ie Angel, then even if you can use it, most punters think that its unfair. They mistake accuracy and rof for higher velocity and complain that your firing 'harder' than their markers. It basically spoils their day and will only put them off not encourage.

Like Joey says 'punter hunting' is a no no - its not big and its not clever! I'm not inferring that you would, and by the sounds of it you would also be against it, its just your opponents might not see it that way.

Yeh i will be at holmbush, I'll look out for you :)

As for punter hunting, I use a LP Piranha on Co2, so nothing too unfair, just saves the frustration of feeling like a stormtrooper at the target range, if I use an inferno ;)

You'll probably see me on sunday, I'm the good looking one ( ;) ) with red framed pro flex's, probably with a black jumper and my jt trousers. My markers got a black/green splash anno on it.

Joey: Assuming it goes ahead, I'll give you a call when I know which weekend we intend playing.

Thanks again guys :)

LOL, yeah tell me about it dude!! I think Sam wants us to go to Campain aswell, so does Twiglet (was she on our side when we were there? She said she shot me but I don't know...!) Anyways did that guy find his Spyder? I left with the other bloke who helpped me out with my Spyder.

And no, you won't impress anyone with your pot pack mate, though give it a whirl! Wearing your pball apparel is going to light us up like christmas trees (remember Delta Force....I do!!!:D)

Stormy on a target range LOL........Chair goes up, Chair goes down :D :p :D
