Ah. Such a difficult question with such a simple answer. Any gun with me on the end of it....:D

Well maybe not. Honestly. The funny thing about this thread is so much of it will come down to personal preference...

Perfect looks? Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you're wondering about the perfect gun from the point of ascetics, the question is moot, IMHO.

So that leaves function. I have yet to be convinced of the accuracy/range argument that surround Cocker/Shockers and other closed bolt guns. I have for yonks been meaning to take a whole bunch of guns down the the field with a vice clamp and benchmark range and accuracy. Again, personal preference will be critical as I find stuff like Bushys and Impys to short to hold and I've never got to shoot a Timmy.

So my final answer to the question is an Angel LED with FreeFlow ERA mod, Palmers Stabilizer, high-rise with air assist and Intellifeed. Now funnily enough this is my gun. But then who doesn't stride to have the perfect gun. All mods are test proven, as I wouldn’t just get a mod for the sake of it. That would take money away from other things like tourneys…

And barrels...I liked my Boomy but use my Freak for the convenience. Does it make any difference to performance. I never really knew.

The funny thing is how hard it is to cut through all the hype...

Looks...

Are of little importance. At the end of the day, the perfect marker is one that is 100% percent reliable during the day and does not break down. It also shoots at a constant velocity and does not go hot after or during a game. It is also well made enough so that it doesn't break paint on long strings and all the paint goes in the right direction.

It should also be simple enough so that when/if something does go wrong with it, it can be fixed with the minimum of fuss and tools in the shortest possible time.

My final point is that it should be light enough to point quickly, but strong enough so that if you go into a bunker quickly and knock it, bits don't fall off it.

My Bush2k fills most of these, but is let down a bit on reliability. It also get carried away when shooting and has been known to chop paint when the hopper couldn't keep up. But, I can forgive it that for the other parts.
