Superman
I do it with my fist facing up (so the back of my hand faces the floor). I have the gat held accordingly. I tilt my fists up towards myself (as if lifting a weight from the wrist), and when diving i aim to land on the padding of my arm pads (on both arms at the same time) first then progress into a slide before the bottle of the gat comes into contact with the ground. Holding it like this stops me getting one of them new compact soil and grass barrel bungs, and you can also use the bounce from the knees (hitting the ground)to spring you back up into a low fighting possition if you need it. Also if you link the dive to a crawl your gat is already facing forward and clamped in hand ready to shoot immediately if you need to.
Thats how i do it... but i'm only novice and i learned it in me garden. so take it away with you if you like... ignore it if you dont
