In a big change to the way Shoreline will be running games, we have decided to move away from individuals as team or faction leaders. Instead, we'll be asking entire teams to take the lead at Shoreline events in 2011. This not only gives more people the chance to get involved in a leadership role, but also allows us as organisers to throw ever more demanding situations into the event to keep things fresh.

For D10 there will be two sides, each with two factions each:

THE HUMANS
MNU - The Scottish Warriors
Euro Corps - The Jackels

THE ALIENS
Prawns - Renegade Rebels
Nigerians - Team Diamond Wars

The entire Scottish Warrior team will be leading the MNU. All players from Europe will be booked onto the Euro Corps who will be led by the Jackels. Together they look like a formidable pairing.

The Prawns bring a lot of fire power to the table and advanced tactics, so the Renegade Rebels have the honour of leading one of the factions. Their allies will be the Nigerians who will be led by a combined team from the Diamond Wars series. They promised to bring massive numbers and no small experience to the fight.

District 10 is shaping up to be a massive paintball war.

Guys, we've got some much else going on at this event. All the details will be released in the Player Pack.

Tickets for this event are now available via the main event website accessed from http://www.shorelineoutdoor.com

In the event of a large ticket sales volumes, Shoreline reserves the right to withdraw tickets from sale without any further notice.

We're really really excited about next season and we're looking forward to seeing you all at Super6/1: District 10

Ladies and Gentlemen

We're into the final couple of weeks.

The last 48 hours has seen some very interesting developments.

BZ, The Shoreline Rangers and the Dog Soldiers have all booked into the Prawn and Nigerian factions, bolstering an already impressive showing from the Renegades and Diamond Wars crews.

In BZ, the Aliens have now picked up a big team of pure gun fighters. Unlikely to care about the finer points of the scenario - they'll be out on the ground shooting anything made of meat.

In The Shoreline Rangers and Dog Soldiers, they've recruited teams who will earn points. The Rangers will bring some fearsome firepower to the fight and are probably one of the hardest working teams in the field, whilst the Dog Soldiers will do their sneaky spec ops ninja stuff - quietly hoovering up the points and dropping hats where ever they pop up.

Suddenly, things have just got interesting!!!

With recruitment efforts so far resulting in almost a complete draw (less than 3% difference in the sizes of both teams) - both sides have 2 weeks left to see if they can get an early drop on the enemy with a numerical advantage between now and game day.

I can't help licking my lips in anticipation at this one!

Tally Ho!

Latest update:

The Aliens have had a stunning week on the recruitment front and have not only overtaken the Human side but have stormed into a 15% lead on headcount  . They've also managed to recruit some fairly meaty teams and the leadership of both Alien factions have met up to discuss tactics and strategy.

The Humans have had a quiet week by comparison after dominating the early weeks in terms of recruitment. Have they shot their bolt too early? :|

From a behind the scenes point of view, we've had a couple of big companies come in to back the series with Tippmann and RAP4 putting their full weight behind the Super6. Great stuff.

Off the field, the final site visit has been completed and this week will see the last bits of building and extension to the staging area finished off.

As part of our drive to invest in technology, we've also arranged to turn the site into a WiFi hotspot for the event. With the site being in the middle of nowhere, you'll appreciate the logistical headache it's been - but we're confident it'll be operational for D10 and is another good example of what makes Super6 different from any other others you'll find in this country.

Along with the free WiFi, we'll also be offering a phone and laptop charging service, free of charge. Just bring your gadgets to reception with the charger and we'll charge them up for you in a secure environment.

The lockers are also ready. For D10, we'll have approximately 40 lockers for the players to use free of charge. Simply pay a £5 deposit at reception and you'll be given a key for a locker - when you return your key you'll get your fiver back! Again, hopefully these little touches will make all the difference to you players.

We've also finalised the tie up with the UK Masters. D10 will now have Hyperball games running all day Saturday from noon onwards as well as the woods based games. There will also be the Tiberius Shooting Competition, the Tippmann TPX Pistol Challenge, the tech classes, Air Safety Training, Super6 Academy, AR:K Angel gun loads, BT demo kit, Tippmann demo kit and loads more going on. There should be plenty to keep everyone occupied all day Saturday.

We're confident that our new electronic flag systems will also be ready by D10. Instead of hoisting a crappy old flag when you take a base, instead you'll flick an electronic switch to trigger a flashing high visibility lighting system to indicate the base has changed hands and start the timers that'll earn each team points.

We've also completed the trials for our new electronic sign-in system which utilises an electronic pen and touch pad. The trials worked perfectly so we're confident registration will be swift and efficient. Whilst we've taken deliver of a biometic sign-on system whereby players will be able to register for events using their finger print (which'll shave on average another 2 seconds off registation over the electronic pen system) we don't expect to have this system working until Shoreline's games later in the year (Tippmann Challenge or Staargate).

We've already got 4 x 42inch LCD screens for the Intel Operatives and registration etc, but we've decided to bring in another 4. The new screens will be used to show paintball movies and videos' from the past 7 years of scenario games in the UK and we're looking at installing these new screens in the sit down dining area at D10 and the new 'pub zones' that we'll have at our summer games later this year.

Another area that we've worked hard on during the off-season is an improvement in the consistancy and experience of our marshalling teams from event to event. I'm absolutely delighted to have brought in some really top guys with bags of experience to each take a team of marshalls under their wing on game day. The new expanded marshalling team that will be at District 10 will see Mike (Antarios) as the main head marshall and he'll have Cambo, Blair (Swiss) and Tony Frosties each leading a team of field marshalls covering the game zones. Over and above those guys, we'll also have players like our own Rob Naylor, Tiberius and Cessle all undertaking specific roles in terms of administering special missions etc to ensure the game runs smoothly.

To aid in the marshalling effort, we've invested in a licensed radio system with 30 handsets and our own licensed radio channel. Whilst this is cost an eye watering amount, we're hoping that players will see a real improvement in the level of marshalling at this first event. If not, I'll burst into tears given how much it's cost lol
Bringing in experienced scenario players to run their own teams of marshalls at scenario games should give the players confidence that the marshalling will be of the very highest order.

That's it for now. The D10 weekly newsletter will be out tomorrow via email, Facebook, Twitter and the forums.

Not long now guys!
