Sup'air Training

I was wondering what would form a good quality sup'air training session.

I mean for football training, you do a bit of shuttle running, you have dribbling the ball with a man chasing, shooting practice, beep tests, strategy sessions, and so on so that when you are on the pitch you are fast, have good stamina, have good skill on the ball, but importantly have good game awareness and play as a team.

Is their a similair strategy to produce a winning formula for sup'air? Or do you just play sup'air for a few hours each training session?

I wonder if you can find someone whos a fitness / aerobic instructor - sit them down with a few videos so they can see the typres of things Tourney players would do , and then design some Sup'air specific circuit training ?

I suppose you'd also have to add in snap shooting and firing on the move practice ?

its somethign I'd be interested in to improove my game and my general fitness !

Looking for a team.
I think a good regime would be a good regular basic aerobic session with some light weight work thrown in. Then some drills for the paintball stuff, doing things liek snap drills, running and gunning drills, etc. Some work prior to tournies over what sort of field layouts etc, firing lanes, sweet spots etc.
If you know your scrimming another team then knowing their breakout tactics and favoured bunkers would be essential...

I guess what i am saying as that its just like football training in that you do some fitness, bsic skills training, squad training and tactics work.

Not a 'how do I get fit thread'!

Although your comments are good I think someone has confused this thread with a....

... 'what can I do to get fit for paintball thread'...

....when in fact I'm actually after someone to give me an idea of what comprises a good solid supair training session.

I quoted the football example as it shows that football is not just about fitness, or kicking a ball, it's about preparing the players individually and as a team by training them properly. I want to just get a feel for what kind of training sessions makes a good sup'air team.

And well done to Ranger and a bit to madcowman.... who did indeed read my thread starter and understand my query...

I'd have thought the physical side would be an essential part of a training session - also from team work perspective ( training together will improve bonding etc )

Would you plan out 'set pieces' using a 2D (or even 3D if you are beeing geeky about it) models / Print outs then test them on the field.

Drawing a parallel with Ice Hockey where you'd have a powerplay defense team who practice working together shorthanded , would you learn specific changes of play for when you loose a man ?

I'll add that DVD to my wish list. I think what I was hoping for was someone to say.... typically we arrive at 9am, we spend the first half hour going through some tactics.. then the next half hour doing some bunker runs.... then some shooting practice.... something like that.....

Think I'll get the DVD though as it sounds like a winner, but just wanted to get a feel for an actual training day... and more out of curiousity than something to adopt..

Its good to attend Clinics, even if its only 1 or 2 of the team players if the team as a whole cannot attend.
Then take back with you what you have been taught, and progress from there.
