i am the president of my college paintball club, finally we're being funded to buy equipment rather than pay $10 extra per person to rent equipment (marker, mask, harness, etc)

i'm unsure about what exactly i should look into purchasing - marker wise. does anyone have suggestions?

i'm TRYING to avoid getting electro because it would eat at our budget to buy rechargeable batteries and chargers to take care of all the markers plus the idea of electro and co2 isn't too good

would be nice if i didn't have to get a marker too overpriced so that we can put a little extra cash into buying upgraded barrels for each marker such as a smart parts progressive.

here are the markers that i've been considering: m3 black dragun, inferno heat, rebel xtreme 02, piranha g3 sts, tippman m98, tippman 98c, spyder tl, spyder e99

i'm unsure about how large of a co2 tank, i was thinking 12oz but i forget how many shots each sized tank usually delivers

if you have any suggestions, let me know

thanks

nicely done mate on the funding.
you've got some good guns there but i would go with the tippmann 98 custom. main reasons for this are:
1) highly upgradeable - Tippmann make loads of bits for them
2) they don't eat loads of co2
3) they will last you years

Those are the main reasons i can come up with.

on the size of bottles go for 20oz bottles. they give you about 800 shots.

I have an Inferno, and about 800 shots from a 20oz CO2 bottle is really the limit - more than that and you run the risk of not having enough gas to re-cock the marker. :(

I could probably get 1200 out of it for my old pump gun...but that's another thread methinks:D

Paul.

You may also look at Piranhas, easy to maintain, and easy to use. Also, on tanks, 12 ouncers are just as good. Reason is that smaller people (like, say WOMEN) can easily carry them.

To be honest, buy whatever you can afford. If oyu can get a "fleet" of 15-20 guns, goggles, and gear, you're set for a good club meet.

Wow, your college has a paintballer club? Thats really cool...do they act as your sponsor or something?

Anyway, I would suggest the Tippmann 98 Custom. The 98 Custom is a highly upgradable gun, and if you take care of it with oil and all the goods, then it will last you forever.

I would also suggest 12oz tanks. I have played for about 3 years and seen a lot of different tanks in action, and overall, I would say that 12oz have the most power. Maybe im wrong because I know the 20oz is bigger, but me and my friend were playing one day, and my 12oz outlasted his 20oz, and they were filled at the same place.
