Stupid Impulse / Air Question

This sounds really stupid, but do impulse's run an compressed air???

Really easy question, but the reason I ask is most online shops say they are Co2. Does that mean they are setup so that they can use CO2 or is it they only use CO2.

Your right that is a really stupid question sorry only messing with you.

Yes Impulses work on HPA (compressed air) with no worries

Do you have to modify it in anyway, Solenoid Optimizer or Low Pressure Chamber or anything like that?

Nope, not that I know of. All you got to make sure of is that you have less than 200psi going straight into the gun, or you'll blow the solenoid (same as CO2).

Yeah I know about that bit of the Impulse, Paul at Warped told me about a guy who couldn't fire his Impy and didn't know why. Paul had found that he had cranked up the reg so high that it had blown the Solenoid.

Your safest thing to do would be give Smart Parts a call (01322 555968) to check what changes may need to be made to make it happy on air. They definitely DO run happily on air, and are sold as CO2 or Air as you prefer.

IMPULSE ON AIR

Hi yes you can run a impulse co2 on air . I do this my self ,i run a co2 vision with a nitro duck all i did was put a drop forward bar on and then moved the max flow and then screwed in the nitro duck into the max flow as the nitro duck is pre set to 850 psi out put you must take the psi to 170 /160 at the max flow

I have ran this way for months with no problem at all

BUT only use a pre set air system set at around 800/ 850 psi

There is no difference in the guns for the air or the co2 version in standard basic form(mainly cos it wud cost to much).
Its just that the regs & dwell timing are set up slightly different,this is due to the difference in nature of the two forms of source (co2 is an expanding & slower moving source & air is none/very little amount of expandin faster moving source)
