Strange Ion

Ok, i aired up my Ion for the 1st time ever today and it did something a little strange so im gonna try and say what happened step by step.

1. Turned the reg all the way down to stop it going pop
2. Screwed the air tank in which was followed by a short hiss and a click
3. Turned the Ion on and turned the reg up by a quarter turn
4. Turned the eyes off and was ready to give a few test shots while adjusting the reg
5. Fired about 4 shots but then when i tried to fire a 5th shot, a large hissing noise started coming from the marker and the trigger seemed unresponsive (it ddnt make the marker fire)
6. Being a teenager, i shook the marker which resulted in a click and the hissing noise stopping.
7. fired a good few shots more and it did it again.

Any ideas on whats going on?

Look in the feedneck, is the bolt getting stuck forward, which starts the hissing?

Take it apart and make sure all hoses are in correctly and that the banjos are secure. Sounds like one of the above may not be connected properly so isn't always making the seal.

Also try putting in a fresh battery...Doubt this will be the problem but a low battery can be the cause of all sorts of strange issues

Also, what lube are you using on the bolt?

Battery wires/connector faulty/loose some how?Had a similar problem with mine where the battery wires 'looked' ok but it turned out to be broken inside the sheathing.
Changed the wires and all was well

it fires ok now :s just turned the reg up to 160 and its not having any problems

could the above be caused by the reg being turned down?

Yeah in that case it's likely that the lack of pressure was preventing the bolt from properly cocking/decocking on each cycle.
