thats not nice to hear mate, and the only thing about the ego is, there are so many of them about its would be difficult to keep a track of it all.

do you have the serial id number of the marker?? failing that go to the cops and get a crime reference number. then see if your house insurance can cover some of the money, as an electronic item lost away from home, similar to a camcorder.

good luck.

Got all that bud,

For information the serial number is 1, yep first 05 Ego off the planet production!

I've got the crime number and fortunatly I'm insured but at the min I don't know how much they'll offer?

I certainly would recommend everyone check with their insurance companys to make sure their kit is covered

Again, thefts from tournaments.

It's time that there was some sort of locker available at the table, maybe part of the structure of the seating or the table itself. It doesn't have to be mega secure, just enough to be enclosed and locked would be fine.

If you went to a sports centre, you wouldn't expect to leave your gear in the changing room on the bench, so why aren't we asking the event organisers to supply, or rent out, secure lockers for our expensive gear.

Forget security guards, cure the problem at the source, take temptation away from the thieving tw@ts, and lock your gear away.

Wendy,do what the pa do and have people who come into the grounds wear a wristband, any body walking out with gear without one should be cuffed :)
This means making the staging area more secure and away from the parking areas, cordening it off with one entry/exit.

Bad news though, i'm never leaving any of my guns alone now, if I have to take the whole bag to the field!!

The PA don't work Chris.

Fair play you got to be a player to take kit out of the staging area. But there is nothing to stop me (a player with an ID card/wrist band) walking out with your whole teams kit while your playing! ;)

Toms' solution would work but sadly the main thing that would work is actually putting your **** away out of the view of people.

The amount of guns and stuff you see sitting around on tables unattended it is unreal. You wouldn't leave a wallet or mobile phone like that so why leave guns??!! All be it if there were no thieves there would be no need but we don't live in a utopia last time I checked...

Not saying this is what happened in this case... just what I see at tourneys in general...

Ah, true enough about the PA, so why not just get a kit bag with a padlock on, i know it's not everything, but it will stop the casual thief.

As Markie C stated, it very likely a player of friend of player that was there in yesterdays case so

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE GIVE THE GEAR BACK ANONYMOUSLY IF YOU HAVE IT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE
