I want to get a Dye hyper 2 regulator the same one that is on the DM6 but people keep sdaying that the ion one is better how does this make sense?

To my understanding it is all about recharge rates, both Hyper2 and Ion stock reg will keep up with all markers out there but if you are looking for a reg to give you the best performance, may I suggest looking at Evolve PI reg also.
The ion reg is better than a CP reg. Not sure if its better than a hyper 2 ("Fly" its the dye man to ask i think).
Its about personal pref. the stock reg is good but it a pain (IMO) to adjust it in relation to and evil det or ego reg.

you can get 05 ego regs for £29.99 from planet in a bunch of colours. good regs, easy to adjust, easy to service.

The hyper 2 is extremely easy to service should you ever need to, all spares are easily available through dye as they use the same parts as other bits on dye guns. Also my fave feature is it has a twisting collar to allow you to position the elbow wherever you like- top reg, i've used one on several DM/proto guns over the years and have no complaints at all

You will not improve the stock ion reg in terms of performance. It is as good under realistic conditions as anything out there. Whether you want to change it for cosmetic reasons is a whole other thing...
DYE Hyper2 = remilled Sidewinder.
If you really want to replace your reg then get an old-skool Sidewinder or AKA 2-litre, Max Agg.

Sidewinder's are great regs. The Ion I used for most of the last year has one on it and is very very consistant.
But, one thing you should think of, why change?
I picked the sidewinder because I got a brand new one for cheap, as well as the 'sidewinder' capacity that the bottom swivels and keeps the hose out of the way.
You dont need to change, so depends on your vanity and your cash flow situation!
