Stock Cocker Vs Eclipse Cocker

I know there lots of improvments on the Eclipse - but what effect on performance do the modifications make?

I'm wondering if I should buy a standard cocker and then buy some mods myself (eg. the Blade Frame & Trigger). I may enjoy this more than than simply buying a one off.

Has the Eclipse been setup to work perfectly out the box? In a way that would be difficult to attain by yourself - if your not an expert on such matters.

Thanks for the help

Cockers are nasty things to work on unless you really know what your doing:( I'm lucky because I live like 20mins away from Belsales so if anything goes wrong it doesn't take long to get fixed. Working on your gun is fun, but it soon becomes a headache when things start to go wrong.

If you have patients with tricky things go for it, you wont regret it:D

Basically a good custom cocker means the gun will be more efficient, quicker, lighter, prettier, and the trigger action will be better.

Working on a cocker even when you do know what your doing can be a pain in the arse to sort things like the trigger action.

My personal favourite has to be the evolution without a shadow of a doubt. Its basically the muts nuts

But then again Im about to buy an Angel so what do I know :D

Skint, you can say that again! :D

Chris, I have a stock 2000 cocker with a blade frame on it. Its a really nice marker (thanks Simon  ) but to be honest, if I had the money for an eclipse cocker, I would have bought one. I know that you need to be well informed about cockers if you want to do any DIY yourself so all I do is clean and oil mine.
If, however, you do learn the bits and bobs about cockers and you are quite mechanically minded, I would say go for the stock and build up from there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a stock cocker with a blade frame!

Hope this helps

You can do even better than upgrading a stock by building one from a body kit. You need to know about how they work, but the best thing about building them from scratch is that you can get it right the first time, exactly the way you want it, and not have to adjust anything afterwards because it's already the way it should be. You can find body kits from G3, Spanky, and then a huge variety of others on eBay.

Another good idea from KillerO.

http://www.g3pb.com/

This is a damn good site! Its a shame its based in the states.
Go into the milling section to check out the bodies.
Killer, am I right in saying they come as aluminium (?) bodies and not anodised or coloured unless you pay for that (they also do anodising)?
Yeah Chris, check this site, you can get all the parts you need from there.

They can have it anodized any way you want, just of course for an appropriate extra charge when it's really complicated or rare. I think one color does come standard if you buy a Jackal body, which I highly recommend since everyone that I've known that has one has gotten excellent results with it. Their body and parts prices are outstanding as are their speed of service and technical advising. Between G3 and Animal Paintball there is no need to go elsewhere for anything Cocker or Angel related, and they are the only two stores I buy from online.

Oh, and shame that it's in the States? Sorry, you couldn't have a store like those elsewhere. You just don't have the brand distribution, nor are your tax rates anywhere near competitive. Vote the schmuckos out of office that are responsible for such, or you will continue to not have the stores that we do.

I've just had a look at the site and have to say the choice of milling styles is awesome dude they apear to stock just about everything you could possibly need (all I need to do is work out exactly what I want from them and completly screw it up when I try and put it together;) )
