Sticking bolt on a blowback

I've got a problem with a Piranha, in that the bolt sometimes sticks, just before it gets to its fully back position. Its got a big external rod out the back of the gun covered by the end of the sight rail.

When it happens all you do is pull the bolt that little bit further back until it cocks.

Its just your usual electroblowback, running Co2 at between 300-500 psi (depending on temperature) through a macdev regulator. At first I thought it could be the pressure, not giving enough to recock the gun, that was when it was running at 300. Its now about 450-500, and the problem seems to more obvious if anything. Any ideas?

Oh, and the bolt does get oiled regularly, all the way up its length, so im not sure that it would be that.

Thanks

Could be that the hammer is dragging, strip the hammer assembly out and clean out the chamber along which the hammer travels and the hammer itself. Then relube and put it all back together.

Are you being too fast on the trigger and the sear isnt catching the hammer properly... I've had that one too.

The only occasions I had something like this (I#m guessing it's my old gat ;) ) was when rapid firing, the bolt would 'pinch' a ball that hadn't fed properly. So the problem wasn't when recocking, it was when actually firing. The bolt would move a fraction, hit the half-chambered ball, and rest on it until you pull the cocking rod back. Joe Bob's point is spot on - there's not really much for it to catch on other than the sear itself.

Does it only happen when firing fast? What hopper are you using to feed it?

I doubt it's a pressure problem because if the pressure's too low on any blowback marker you get the dreaded brrrap as it goes full auto and starts making soup.

PM me or phone me if you're still stumped!

Cheers everyone. Rabies that could well be it, it does seem to happen after firing. Like you'll fire a burst, then stop, and when you goto fire again you'll need to cock it. It doesnt happen all the time, just now and then, but Ive had it stick when I really needed it to fire etc :)

Ive got a xboarded revi, so it should be ok? A guy I spoke to mentioned about the co2, in that maybe when firing fast, even anti syphoned, the bolt could be getting very cold and becoming 'sticky'. Only thing for that would be to put air on it? I'll see if I can use someones air on it for a day, that might solve it.
