Actually that's not true. I love people hating on smart parts, gives me cheap markers. A team mate has an ion as a back up, virtually stock and it rips.

Look after it properly and it will work just as well as any other marker. Yeah, it might feel a bit cheap and tacky but it can still "mow faces" as the young kids say.

Have you considered holding off buying a marker till you have a little more money. If you get in touch with a lot of established teams they could well lend you a marker for the dayif you re training with them .Since most established players have a small shed full of older guns . Worth asking and you ll get to try out different guns ie poppet or spool, new budget orolder top end??

thanks guys... what I think im gonna do is get the other stuff before I buy a marker, im going to CPPS with my mate so i can hold some there and see what feels right, then i'll go and save up and get something thats worth buying, thats not going to break on me and that wont need updating when i get better, I think that's better than rushing into a panic sale and buying something that i'm going to regret in the future...

Well I have an ion bought by my son Jim as my first marker. He has vast experience and says that they are good markers. Maybe not the best, but they work, and it was a cheap way of getting my first set of kit. At £60 it's probably bottomed out in price too. In fact I got a total set up for £170!
