star swivel reg

aright guys and gals

was trying to separate my old ego 06 star swivel inline reg today and found that when i was i was the top of the reg would not separate and just spun on the swivel with the elbow fitting. at the same time as the top of the reg spins the bottom of the reg also spins just leaving the swivel still.

any ideas as to what is going on and suggestion on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated

im not sure if they did this on the 06 regs but there should be a hex machined into the alloy on the top and bottom patrs of the reg making it easier to come apart, if not u can use a vice and gas grips but make sure you pad it with card or something simular and dont overtighten.

it does have a large hex in the bottom but nothing in the top, think i may take it into work and stick the top half in a vice and try a hex key on the bottom.

yeah im not sure what year they changed the top and put a hex in, i know my 06 didnt but my 09 did
