Hey Guys & Gals,
I`ve had a few requests for further details so get out your notebooks:

The Game - Stalingrad, The Russian Front.

The Venue - Skirmish Bullswood, Surrey.

The Organiser - Me and my team.

The Date - A cold and wet November 22nd.

Start time - site opens at 7.00 am - battle begins at 10.00 - guns down at 3.30.

Air - Those lovely chaps at H-Pac (yes, 4500 is available all day long).

Trade stands - BZ paintball should be in attendance for kit & paint

Generals - Should be Herr Eddie Von Straffensbouger and Comrade Mikeyvlodski - tbc.

Cost - £40 if booked before end of October, £45 if in November - inc. air, tea & coffee.

Team Selection - We will sort this with advice from both generals.

The Brief:

Winter, Russia 1942 - The German assault on Stalingrad has ground to halt with the onsett of a terrible Russian winter. Cut off in a town of Skirmishki on the outskirts of Stalingrad are whats left of a battalion of German crack troops under the un-wavering leadership of General Eddie Von Stafenbourger with orders to defend the position at all costs as a secret German Super Heavy Tank code name Maus has become bogged down and is unable to retreat. A band of Russian conscripts, hell-bent on revenge have the Germans besieged. The Rusians have received patchy intel about the German Super Tank and have orders to detroy it - only problem is their allies are to air-drop the special armour-piercing gas cannon needed to take it out.

The Missions:

Both German & Russian generals will recieve secret orders every hour regarding intercepted coded messages which give locations of fuel, shells and artilery. After each mission, both Russians & Germans must retreat back to their bases before tackling the next mission. Its cold, damn cold, so both teams are forced to take a short lunch break at 1.30 before the highlight of the day: Assuming some Fuel has been collected, ammo stolen and tha the Germans have intercepted the correct intel, the Russians should load their shiny new Armour-Piercing Gas cannon onto their HALF TRACK (did I mention the Russins have a half track?) and advance behind the smoke-belching, cannon firing Half track monster onto a well dug-in German defencive ring, trying to manouver the Armour Piercing Gas Cannon into position to try and take out the German Super Heavy Tank which will be breaking free of its muddy confines and taking evasive action!

Sounds good to me - A big Tank and Armoured Half Track (yes you can get on the back of it, yes it will drive around the battlefield, yes it will have a Banksman - Para Dave has been volonteered for this one), artilery, greatcoats and cold wet weather - the perfect build up for the festive season!

Please let me know either by e-mail skirmish@globalnet.co.uk or call me direct on 01342 870870 to reserve your places (they are limited).

Cheers, Dan.

PS - Further pics and details will follow.

Hi Guys,
Just had a chat with General Eddie Von Stafenbourger and one area discussed was team selection - if any team has a particular desire to be on one side - say they just happen to have a complete, authentic WW2 German officers outfit or Volger water stained Commisars cap - just let me know and at this early stage it can be sorted.

Thanks, Dan.

Hi Guys,
Ok, just to answer a few questions:

1. Apologies for not catching up with you all at Time Wars - had a few of my guys over there but I got caught up in a mommoth day on site:(

2. Rental gear - I`ve had a lot of interest from players who nead gear - would be great to nurture (NOT torture) some new faces. As-new Piranha, 3000psi air system and full-head goggles are £5 per set, pack & pots are £2 hire (cos everyone brings the pots back.....). Please inform me before the day if you need any rental gear.

3. Booking in - please e-mail me direct on skirmish@globalnet.co.uk or call me on 01342 870870 - please note - I need a little little bit more than a post saying you might some players coming to really get you booked in.

4. Germans/Russians - split is currently about even - I will post up a more accurate list nearer the time.

5. Chrono - those of you who have attended the Flashpoint games held here at Bullswood know that we will be carrying out on-field checks for both BPS and FPS (limits will be announced shortly)

6. Bonus Balling - OK, we no it happens but it really sucks, especially if we are bringing on new players. There seem to be 4 main factors - hard paint which bounces off forcing you to shoot the guys 8 times before one breaks - getting shot in the back 8 times without realising the first 7 bounced and the eigth burst.... judges who don`t do enough to get on top of the problem quick enough and finally spawn points that have you blasted before you have re-entered.
To tackle these issues we plan to: Advise you if your paint is to hard - also let the poor guy who you`ve just got 7 bouncers on that you didn`t mean it personally. My judges will always get stuck in or else I will whip them (maybe not Para Dave who seems to love getting shot anyway...) and the Spawn points will be in good locations but with a 10 meter overun parameter - if the enemy get within 10 meters of it it gets shut down.
Also, perhaps we could just remember that hard paint bounces and that bonus balling really P*sses people off.

Cool, so get booking now -its more expensive if you book in after October!

Hi Guys,

In answer to a couple of questions that have come up on other forums:

Paint is BYO or purchase from BZ or purchase from me.

HPAC are doing the air.

Gun rules as follows:

Marker Rules:

Markers may shoot in any mode, excluding full-auto, to a maximum rate of fire of 12 BPS.

Markers may be used in Semi automatic mode but must be capped at 12 BPS.

Markers must be shooting at or below 300 FPS.

Before a player may enter the field of play they must submit their marker and pistol if applicable to a chronograph referee.

The chronograph referee will take a player’s marker and inspect it for any device, part, item, adjustment or lack thereof which would enable a player to increase either the muzzle velocity of the marker or change the shooting mode on the game field without resorting to the use of tools.

Mechanical Bounce Test - Markers will be tested for mechanical bounce by a bumping or jarring of the marker. Markers will be held by the rear of the main body and bumped on the tank or hopper. No contact will be made with the trigger. The marker will be deemed to have mechanical bounce if the marker fires during the bump test.

“Runaway Guns” Test - All markers will be checked for “runaway” triggers. The marker will be fired rapidly. The testing judge, while rapidly firing the marker will suddenly cease to pull the trigger. Any marker that fires more than 1 additional shot after the final trigger activation, with a maximum delay of 100 ms, will be deemed to be a “Runaway Gun” and will not be allowed on the field.

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Guys,
Thought I`d post up a current list of players booked in and paid for.
As per previous post, we seem to have had an influx of Russians since I last checked the numbers - anyone now looking at booking in will be heavily pushed towards the Germans...

Teams as follows:

Russian:
Sunny Judo
Phil Abbot
Dimitri Michalchuk (5 + 2 not paid)
Alex Carney (13)
Rob Peppard
Tom Macdonald
Martin Metter
Mike Cantrell
Lee Austin
Dean Walker
Edward Greaves (3)
James Johnson (3)
Tom Rickman (7)
Phil Walker (4)
Kevin Miles (2)
Nicholas Villeveal (7)
Andy Taylor (9)

Germans:
Luke Bankie (2)
Tony Brogan (2)
Steve Michie
E. Bogdavovic
Tinus Vonschalkwyk (c`mon, that must be made up...)
Rob Sclice
Steve Boyland
Steve Wilts (7)
Dejan "Leon" Vuksanovic
Simon Charman
Lawrence Marshal
Dave Loveridge (2)
Nick - Rhino Trikes (2)
Tony Roost
Sam Cooper
Lawrence Fowler
Phil Jones
Nick Phillips
Lewis Beck
Adam Rick
Tom Davis (2)
Victor Fransisco (4)
Ben & Chris
General Eddie + 5 Geese
Campaign (Poss 4)
Chris "The Swede" Hemrysson (2)

Please note - the number limit is 140 players on the day so we really do have only a few places next - if you are not yet booked in DO IT SOON before we run out!

Also:

1. Hpac is 100% confirmed
2. Getting hold of a half-track has proved difficult so I have been inventive and sorted this.
3. The German tank has proved an issue - the firm I was to use and had booked up has gone bust. The second option, the chaps who were at SPC, are booked up. I have a third option which I am investigating - these military enthusiasts seem to have issues with the thought of their 10 tons of precious metal getting shot by a paintball gun! I will keep you all posted.

Many thanks, Dan.
