Mods: please move if I've put this in the wrong place.

I'm looking to keep a record of everything I've got (on the offchance it goes walkabouts), and I've got everything catalogued, but my brand new Spyder Victor '07 appears to have no serial number, which I would expect.

I'm new to the sport, and thus it's my first marker, and I don't know where I should be looking for a serial number.

Does anyone know where Kingman/Spyder shove the serial number? I've looked all over, but can't see it obviously.

OK, I take it they don't come with serial numbers officially then. I'll be using the serial number system on my gear of CJM0001 upwards then (unless somebody else wishes to claim that numbering system). It'll all be labelled as such, somewhere.

It's confirmed, I've got no serial number.

I guess I'll resort to having my own set of S/Ns for my gear then. As long as nobody else is going claim this serial prefix, I'll be using the prefix "CJM", followed by a 4 digit sequence number. Perhaps somebody should set up a database that ISSUES serial numbers for kit that hasn't got it, perhaps along the lines of 3 digit prefix based on your name, and then a 6 digit number (so we don't run out). I've got the web skills to do it, jut not the time. Just an idea.

That's not the point, though. I'm Mr Forgetful at times.... been known to lend stuff to people and then forget to even ask for it back. I don't think I've ever had something not come back yet, though, because it's all been IDed.

Thus, the logic dictates that I keep marking stuff, and then I don't need to worry about it getting completely lost, as it's got a "serial" or ID tag and won't stay lost for long.
