Spyder SE expansion chamber

I was wondering if anyone knew if the Spyder SE expansion chamber with the hard bottom line will fit on a spyder compact, a freind of mine is going to sell me his, but it has a space between the grip and the bottom line. Anyone know of a spacer that will work.

I was thinking about getting a flexable line, but I can't find one with the right type of end.
