I have a potential deal to get a Spyder Rodeo but don't know much about the old markers having only got into paintball the last year. I already have a Geo 2.1 so just looking for a spare to have fun with and maybe lend to mates when they come walk ons with me.

I know they take HPA tanks as well as the CO2 . Obviously I have a HPA tank which should be fine but just want some feedback of experiance or thoughts on the marker.

All opinions are welcome and just need a bit of guidance.

Cheers

A spyder is a very basic marker, but will run fine on air or CO2. It will fire paint at 300fps, but not with much subtlety or elegance - especially compared toy our GEO!
That said, if it's cheap (about£30) it'll do fine as a cheap loaner for walkons, certainly better than a rental.

thanks for the reply Kev...

what about £55?

I just got a Proto rail 2011 in olive for £80 which is cool but i have a few people im trying to get into the sport so i would like a couple spare guns... thought it would be fun to play with a rodeo but if it's really poop then i will avoid it.

i could have got a tipmann 98 for £30 but think it is only marginally better than rentals so wanted something looking retro and fun like the rodeo.

Ideally somewhere down the line i would love a classic autococker but that is down the line, right now i want another spare/back up

I wouldn't pay £55 for a Spyder myself.I've owned a couple of spyders, and they are not all that as a marker. Put a couple more quid on the budget and you'll be looking at PMRs SLGs and IONs, all of which are much better, whereas a Spyder operates pretty much the same a a rental.

thanks for the advice, i probably would have got it as well on its looks haha.

I already have a proto rail as a spare, maybe i will hold out and grab an e-blade or something. I know your steering me towards the more recent electronic markers, might check out IONs
