Spyder Electra with eyes 08 battery problem

Hi guys

i recently bought a Spyder Electra with eyes 2008 model.
And if you leave battery connected it goes flat in about 2days.
also if you put a new battery or a fully re-charged battery that came with the gun, then after about 30 shots the red battery light comes on to warn you that the battery is getting low.
i dont trust it to go out in a match with it.
it's only my backup gun but would like to get it going

any ideas???

cheers j.codd :D

i think spyders are made to run on 9.5 volt batteries (like the rechargable that came with it) which is why normal 9volts don't last long (i had the same problem with my old spyder)

i'm guessing the original battery has been left for a while, as it's a back up gun, so i would say buy another 9.5volt rechargable

hope this helps

an upgrade board would only help slightly as the biggest power drain is the solenoid and that doesnt usually change with a new board, the "pancake" solenoids (like the ones in spyders) tend to eat batteries anyway

plus a new battery would be more cost effective

Planet Eclipse carry the Spyder higher voltage batteries - although my old spyder ran fine on a fresh procell - though it would only shoot a case on one!

PS - the low battery warning is based on the 9.6v battery being used, so you'll have a fair few shots left even when it comes on...

yer i tried fresh duracell but because the battery light comes on i dont trust it lol but theat defo makes sense kevin, because when you do have a genuine flat battery. the solenide goes very quiet.
but then i put the duracell 9v non rechargable. and the solenide is very loud so it makes me think that the battery isent relly flat
if that makes sense lol
