Just taken delivery of a spyder AMG classic.:D It came with a Evo2 (not Y-boarded), a dye excel barrel, and a centerflag 3000 preset + bottle. Bought it from starjefski (Cheers, buddy!)

Basically i was wondering which comsumables (O-rings, oil etc.) would be worth having in a tool box and links to where i could get them from?

What routine maintanance tasks i should carry out to keep it in running order? Particularly the reg.

Also, what further upgrades would make a big difference to the markers performance?

And finally the ultimate technical question, how do you get that sticky crap left from stickers off?

Cheers,

Some answers :D i have worked with lots of spyders and there is a certain techniques you need to know to stop your marker getting spyder rot :D

First off to get the easy bits done. Sticker tacky gum left, you need a citrus cleaner, or that sticker remover that has a strong orange smell. In R.S. Catalogue or Web Site it is code: 236-1874.

General maintenance is a light gun oil whch i will try and find a distributer for... think Planet might sell some.

The reg should be fine just ever couple of games check it is clean and its seals are in good condition.

Overall a light coat of oil on the bolt and striker, and make sure the o-rings are oiled but not soaking. This will cause swellng otherwise.

Planet do the o-rings for the AMG i thought, as one pack does a range of spyders, and the other does the earlier spyders like Spyder One.

Also always carry spare 9v batteries, you always get a flat one when u dont have a spare :D

The AMG is not something you can upgrade easily, as it has been pretty much maxxed as it is. Team Bad Company use AMG's as they are with maybe a barrel and fast hopper and thats it. Work you can carry out if your confident is smoothing the face of the bolt so it cups the ball and if u get an adjustable reg, widening some of the airways leading into the face of the valve.

Hope this helps! :)

Dont diss da spyders - its the people who own em who wreck em! Looked after they are fine!

Just cos u couldn't keep maintenance up on your simple mech spyder Le-Davo-Pig, no need to think everyone is as incapable as yourself! :D

I would with quite happy with Bad Companies AMG Exclusive kickin their fourth win this year and $50,000 purse each time! :D

The AMG is a cool 1st marker ,make sure you get a spare's kit from planet eclipse .The only upgrade i got for mine after the 1st time i played with it was a freak kit ,certainly helps out cos i know the stock barrel aint all that .Turn the REG down to about 400-500 psi and the marker will run fine .Must admit tho that once you learn how to get the trigger rockin you will be lookin for a new marker cos you start choppin balls all the time .Have fun with it :D

Yup it works nice and lower pressures, but if u have a Eggy2 and do a bolt face mod as i suggested, chopping shouldn't be a problem.

There is an anti-chop bolt you can get for spyders with an adjustable tension which allows the bolt face to retract when you half feed a ball into the chamber. Really good idea and works a treat on the latest spyder electro's. After all, the only thing that turns it electro is the grip and re-designed striker. :)

Go for it!
