Splat! (December 30/04) Splat! is essentially porn for the paintball set. Though the film does contain a few instances of character development, Splat! is concerned more with long, interminable sequences in which the game of paintball is played. The wafer-thin storyline involves a put-upon teen who receives a boost of self-confidence after a legendary paintballer offers to help him and his team prepare for a pivotal tournament, giving them the chance to finally show up their arch-rivals. The acting is almost uniformly atrocious, though newcomer Michelle Borth is surprisingly effective as said teen's hard-working sister. Look, Splat! has clearly been made for a very specific audience - and it does seem possible that paintball fans might get a kick out of the film (though one would really have to be into the sport in order to overlook the amateurish performances and cookie-cutter script).

OK - seeing as how I actually posted the links to the 'reviews' by non-paintballers - it's pretty much a safe bet that I read them.

I asked if anyone on here had seen it.

I can only summise that answer to be a 'no'.

Ta anyway :p

haha dude i was gonna buy this from woolworths a while ago but my girlfriend wouldn't let me based on how bad the synopsis and cover looked. Personally I would of said yes back then but thats only because I was tempted by the darkside, on reflection my girlfriends jedi ways was definately the safer option.

Well, I took the plunge and watched it anyway. It wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be.

The storyline is the usual "underpriviledged kid wins the day and beats the snob".

Action sequences are hilarious - nearly as funny as the dodgy English accent of the 'shadow' ;).

Anyway - get it - laugh at it - take it back :D
