How do I speed up the firing off a standard dome switch shocker. No matter how fast I pull the thing only fires at one speed and in some cases I pull, get the click, but I doesn't fire.

Has it got something to do with dwell settings and how easy is it to change. I don't want to make a drastic change to the speed, I just to want to crank it up a few bps.

I suppose this is one for you Bruce! :D

Ok, if you're getting clicks and no shots, try cleaning the solenoids.

The shockers are capped at 11.25BPS but im sure there will be a way of changing it. Im looking into it...

seperate your shocker so you can see the dip switches, there are two banks (left and right) all the dip switches on both banks should be to the left hand side of the bank, to give max rate of fire (11.25BPS).

the right hand bank top 2 switches control the fire pulse (how long the valve stays open to fire the ball). The bottom 2 switches control the bolt (how long the bolt stays open to feed a ball).

The 3 top switches on the left add extra time to the bolt and fire control (basically fine tuning). the bottom switch is the turbo ON/OFF on the turbo board (doesnt do anything on the standard board)

The timing of the shocker is more a case of trial and error than anything else.

As to regard the missing shots your down to 2 options
1. the solinoids need cleaning
2. the dome switch trigger is not connecting correctly as it is worn

if you need any help let me know

cheers

Ahh Bruce you never let me down. Thanx to everyone else too. I don't think that I really have a problem with the skipped shots, I've got a funny feeling that the marker has been set to a fail safe fire rate and I might be going at it a bit to fast. But I will give the seloniods a clean, if I can find a screw driver small enough to unscrew them that is.
