why is speedball so heavily tournament based? why isn't it just played for fun, instead of being tournaments?

haha no you didnt!lol close one though;)

Heres my opinion why: Of course tournaments are fun! At tournies you get teams who are even more passionate about the sport, have all there own gear, teammates, they have put the effort in to make the most of there passion etc... Makes the atmosphere a lot better.

Also sup air/speedball is much easier to keep track off (on the ref side of view), i mean try being a ref in a big scenario match, its a lot harder to keep track on ppl wiping paint off in scenario than in sup air. Also sup air is easier to spectate, hard to watch a scenario game without having to walk into the game.

Sup air arenas are smaller, making it easier to watch

Sup air, is more basic really, nothing but some large to small inflatables for cover- which makes the tactics more important and the game more competitive. And of course this adds to the fun!

Theres a lot more tactics in a "professional" if you call um that, rec ball team :D

But as most people said you can play it any time and not just at tournaments.
