to late for reviews if you just got it

www.pbreview.com

there you go but nearly every gun has biased views and americans dont like to put less than 8

so just check them out you will find some good ones but to late if you have it allready

plastic spoons - they do the same job as a metal one

hemel hempsteead oooo love it
my truthfull review of that package without flaming you... is for the money definately worth it, sp ion as everyone knows best starter gun going you hve a 3000 psi air system as well which is good to start on, googles always good although not to my taste if you havnt got much money to spend on new pair, buy some out of the clasified section on this forum, V-force profilers or JT pro flex always good ones to have. hopper unfortunately i doubt that this hopper will keep up with your ions ramping capabilitys as is is only a revvy feeding 8/10 bps max. i would once again advise you go for the egg hopper off this site for around £30 this should get you up to speed. battle pack included i have never seen before but should do you for the while. overall stuff needs to be upgraded but for the price it looks good to me. also when you get a bit more into the game i am sure people wil lstart tellin you to buy this buy that for your ion my advice is buy a Q lok feed neck, an all american or freak barrel then the rest is personal prefference and drop forward maybe or even a new trigger its up to you matey. welcome to the hideous time consuming money spending but absolutely amazingly brilliant world of paintball :D:D enjoy

As shiftizzle says....

I got an Ion and am very pleased with it. Yes it aint a dye or ego or whatever, but for the money it rocks!!

As shiftizzle says immediately get a Q-lock to ensure you secure your hopper on properly. I would also recomend a CP OOPs (On Off Purge System). Don't know where you are situated but LPS fitted both for me for about £50.

As for the recomendation for an Egg. Don't know enough about the hopper you got with your package, but I got an Egg and other than minor minor niggles with the battery door (either do mod or use electricians tape), it keeps up with my Ion and hasn't let me down once.

Mask... they are always personal preference... but you got one so thats the important thing.

Oh, get an air bottle cover as well if aint got one....

Ultimately you will want to upgrade your air system, your mask, buy gloves, etc, etc, etc... however my two penneth worth is to just get the q-lock and OOPs on your Ion to start with, then start attending walk-ons and then see what else you feel you need. Try not to get caught up in upgrade mania if you on a budget, which I think we all are in some form or the other.

Hope helpful.

BTW well quoted shiftizzle....

gets the thumbs up for a starter package, you'll soon learn more as you get more into the sport and maybe start changing some of your gear to get better performance or upgrade your gun...

upping the ion is definitely worth a look, jsut see how you feel with it after using it a few times...

you may want to put a sp 360 QEV into the gun, the air tank only looks a samll one and if your shooting lots of paint or playing in say a big game, a qev will come in useful, you can go through more paint before having to refill your tank

and from this moment on you will always be skint of money... welcome to paintball

Thx for advice guys :) I already have a Dye i3 mask  :D Not sure if i said this but the battlepack and mask will go to a m8 to start him off. Yeah read about the trigger and about the feed neck so will look for a 'Q lock feed neck' .

Might have to wait to buy the q-lock, trigger and egg  The hopper that I have at the moment is some VZ revolution tripod which I got free with my spyder MR-1. I also have a hopper feeder neck from my spyder. Would it fit on an ion???

Aye personaly I would have bought it off here, its what I did and I got a great deal with the marker and hopper (egg) But like everyone is saying get a q-lock it will let you put any hopper in with out damaging it. If you have some spare cash get a QEV, Virtue Eyes and a decent barrel. If in the future you have like £60-80+ to spare get a new board :p

Woodsball or Tourney?

Rainbow shooters comments are more valid for if you are to run around a field full of bouncy castles in tourney type play... (not flaming you rainbow my man! :) )

If you are playing woodsball at least to start with then you can perhaps be a bit more conservative about your marker improvements, and weigh up the cost of these improvements against the gains you will achieve.

Go for low investment big improvement items first (such as q-lock, OOPs, etc), before you start spending a fortune on big investment small improvements such as new eyes.. new board... freak barrel... etc... (again all are good modifications rainbow not flaming you buddy......:) )

Ion stock trigger is ok by the way... just make sure you adjust it to suit your needs.... I did and find it just fine.... (but admittedly would change if had spare cash kicking around doing absolutely nothing..... )
