Ok then guys. I'm currently working through a course in design technology where i have to design a system of protection. I've chosen to do something along the lines of own gunners area's and how their equipment is kept safe.

So my questions to you are:
1) Have you ever had anything stolen from you while at a site? (don't want to know which site. just if anything has been stolen, THIS IS NOT A NAME AND SHAME ppl)

2) Do you think more could be done a paintball sites to improve the saftey of own gunners equipment?

3) would you go back to and reccommend a site that has excellent facilities in terms of equipment safety?

Also some other things that would help me.
How many people is it estimated that play every week?
How many out of this figure are own gunners?
How many sites are there roughly in the country?

cheers for your help ladies and gentlemen.

Hope some of you can give me some answers.

Note to admin: i would put this in the announcements and queries section but i thought i would get a better response in this section as it is primarily rec ballers i am questioning.

Paintball is my BITCH!!!
I play a bit of rec ball as well as tourny, and if I play at a poor site, I will tell everyone that I know. However, my definition of good and safe will vary to your definition and personally I think that health and safety should be the topmost item on every sites list of things to do, but there are the occasional site that is a little lax on it's safety breach.
I can't answer many more of your questions but I can tell you that up here in North Wales, there are only about six - eight sites.
Hope that helps!

Check out Durty Dan's site - some good pointers about marker security on there.

You can buy trigger locks for firearms, but these probably wouldn't fit most markers with double triggers. The other obvious suggestion is a good bike lock through the trigger guard or breech and around something heavy/immovable, though you still might lose whatever can be unscrewed.

Base fact is if someone is intent on stealing something, they will - you can only make it progressively harder to do so as a deterrent, and most theft is based on opportunism. Probably the best solution would be a supervised car park/ gun cabinet to store stuff in. Most sites I've been to (esp, Bullswood) have someone in the safe area in proximity to where bags are kept, and are more than happy to look after stuff where they issue kit if you ask.

Hi there I hope you have got plenty of time for this piece of home work lol;)

ok yes I have had things grow legs and walk thankfully they were returned.

Well I have been far more carefull about putting things down not leaving kit on it's own ect....................

Liz had a bad experiecne at sc--thorope the bolt from her brand new imppy was nicked apparently a gang of kids was at work they tried legging it with a case of paint and a digtal cammera! The staging area was not being supervised and members of the public had access.

Most ballers are part of a big family. It's a small world still some peoples guns are very distincive. most of the equipment I have heard about being stolen is out of cars or shops being broken in to.

Sadly it dose grow legs at event some times but a timley annoucemnet noramlly does the trick I can think of several times in diffrent counties were this has happened. One gun was "safley" in a teams tent when it happended.

Mabey we can have some form of tag on the markers so they can be identiffied. To do this and keep a log is a big job hence it's not been done yet philp has talked about it I said I would help and thats as far as it got.

Saftey is very important on the whole I think the standard of saftey is brilliant. I would only recomend safe sites and if the saftey of an event is lacking it really puts me off attending again.

If you contact steve bull of the ukpsf the site survey should have most of the other figures you need.

Good luck;)

Have your school got used to paintball being your subject of choice my daughters school hasn't got a clue yet even though she has done several projects based on paintball.
