With the max flo (which comes stock on a shocker), it won't go liquid or fluctuate so you don't really have to worry about that. You get more shots per fill with CO2, so if you go through alot of paint and don't want to burden yourself with a 114 air tank, it can be a reasonable alternative. My personal preference is air because it is cleaner, more consistent, and unaffected by temperature fluctuations, but that's just me.

All i can say is my shocker rocked when i was using co2. Super consistant, then i changed to air got a whole load less shots, not as good consistancy and had to carry a bigger, heavier bottle to get as many shots as co2.

co2 to air

I had a turbo on co2. It was great when it was defrosted, the problem was it was so bloody fast that it would just freeze. Sold it instead of getting an air system for it, but from what i am hearing i dont think that air would make everything all OK for the marker.
I spose air has its ups and downs.
As allways it comes down to personal prefy.
