softer pull

Bone

Emulsified!
...i wanna get a softer trigger pull on my cocker, at the moment you have to but quite abit of effort into making it go bang due to the stiffness of the main spring.......which is cranked up quite high on the VA because the gun is running on quite low pressure.

Here's what i wanna do and i need your opinions on it!

1. stick a rocket valve in.....nice n high flowing, hopefully with a softer valve spring ( i know they are adjustable, but how much so?)

2. Stick a rex nelspot external VA kit in, with the softest spring it comes with.......

the idea is to get the trigger pull softer! will this help? Has anyone got this setup already? is it nice?

Oh, and i have a rounded hammer lug, instead of a flat one..... does this affect trigger pull stiffness?

I know i could just stick soft spring in from a spring kit but i thought i might aswell get the extra improvemnts from the VA and the high flowing valve too......

waddya think? cheers!

the spring in the valve and in the hammer kit have absolutly nothing at all to do with the trigger pull

best bet is to play with the springs in the trigger frame, also you might like the feel of a roller sear, makes the pull nice and smooth :)

nonono.....i haven't made myself clear.....the pull on the trigger is lurvely.....the actuator rod moves about 2 mm and its light as a feather!

what i'm talkin about is the force you have to put on the trigger when the gun is cocked to release the hammer.......a stronger main spring means you have to pull the trigger harder ( you just have to unscrew the VA to feel the difference!) so i want a softer main spring, and for that i need a softer valve spring......i think......yes...... :p ................dont i?

no he is right...

To release the hammer, you must move it back slightly with the trigger pull, a really hard main spring makes that tougher to do, and thus gives you a stiffer trigger pull, at the start anyway.

Jahlad, thought u would of known that :p

A lighter main spring, and some tweaking will do it.

Zwitta! thank you! thought so....... ... nobody else seemed to understand what i meant! its the initial release of the hammer that im talkin about, so yeah, softer main springs is the way to go then. cool, cheers!
