hey..i just got my new spyder xtra, and when i shoot it "smokes" and smells kinda bad. I am not sure what's wrong but it doesnt seem good. Also, does anyone know any tricks to try and minimize the amount of air lost when taking the Co2 tank off? (other than buying one with an on/off switch).

CO2

Hiya

To take your bottle off turn it 1 - 2 full turns then shoot the gun. This will de-gas the gun and then you can just screw the bottle off.

If you are shooting smoke out of the end check your velocity that might be why it is doing that.

probably drawing liquid co2

so a puff of co2, and it may have too much oil on it, so it smells a bit when shot. and yeah the velocity may be too high.

Lanark.
The puff of smoke coming out the end is the co2, automags has this exact same problem. What you gotta do is make sure no liquid us being drawn in through the gun. The best way to do this is to fit an anti syphone anto the bottle so only gas goes through. Next maybe an expansion chambre also helps stop liquid coming through.
Hope this helps.
Chunk.
